Going and Get
My biggest pet peeve of late involves a mismatch in the tense of a subordinate clause. Namely the fact that some people will say thing such as “I’m going to the store and get some milk.” I’ve heard it at least two or three times this autumn already, and that phrase sets off sirens in my head.

How do you silence your thoughts so you can sleep?
I can’t stop thinking how far I am now from everyone and everything that used to matter to me. I’m barely into my adult life, and I feel like I’ve already met and lost some of the best people I’ll ever meet. I can’t stop feeling helpless.
I’ve never been able to handle this feeling. I can’t stand having problems and not even knowing if there is an answer....
